Simplest way to make a unsubscribe System for Mautic

Hello, guys, i will share this tips to create an Unsubscribe System in Mautic.

For Sample, if you have two Newsletter Monthly and Weekly Newsletter if the contact just wants to just unsubscribe from the Weekly Newsletter but want to keep receiving the Monthly Newsletter and the contact makes click the unsubscribe link using the token {unsubscribe_url}‍ that Mautic have this contact will be removed from the whole system.

And will be marked in Mautic as DO Not Contact.

So let make a system so the user can choose from what newsletter he/she want to unsubscribe.

Lets begins first login in your Mautic System then go to Components > Forms and create a New Campaign Form.

Let’s call this form “Unsubscribe System Form” let create the fields we need. In this case, i use 4 fields (First Name, Last Name, Email and a Select field with the Newsletters option)

And Saved the Form.

Next go to Components > Landing Page

Create a Landing Page Called “Unsubscribe”

NOTE: Here you can use a landing page with a custom design using the template that Mautic have, but for this Sample, i going to use the Blank template.

Insert the form token in my case my form id is 14 so I put

{form=14}‍ and your page should look like this.

NOTE: You can add an Action to the Weekly or Monthly Newsletter to include a TAG to the Contact. And in your Segments List add the filter to look for a tag sample :Weekley-TAG or Monthly-Tag

After we have made our forms, segments, landing page and campaigns don’t forget to add the custom unsubscribe link in all our emails.

Open the email and add the link in the footer of the emails

Where {pagelink=23}, 23 is the ID of the landing page we have created previously with the form embedded

Now every time you send an email to your Weekly and Monthly Newsletter and if the user clicks “Unsubscribe from this email” this will be redirected to a custom landing page with a form and give the opportunity to this contact removed from the newsletter they want and not the whole system.

If are new to Mautic or you’re stuck, it might be time to contact a professional for help. I have helped a lot of clients from startups to business with their Mautic activities all over the world.
