Ecclesiastic-Like Thoughts

We wake, we eat, we wash, we breathe;

We work, we sweat, we rule, we neglect.

We try, we fail, we attempt, we prevail;

We run, we hide, we climb, we glide.

We love, we hurt, our life, so curt;

Our hearts we test, at every step.

My heart is full, my heart is empty;

I live for the purpose of filling my belly.

The days appear and the nights reveal;

Our routine breeds, with steady speed.

We accept life’s servings with minimal objection;

For fear of an even worse reaction.

Through challenge and hurdle we attempt to succeed;

And in the end we think we’re greatly freed.

Life to us seems just a simple procedure;

That we pass through everyday to reach an immediate future.
