UEFA EUROPEAN TOURNAMENT: LESSONS FOR ENTREPRENEURS AND BUSINESS START UPS

Its perhaps no longer news Portugal have won the Euro tournament. This to me doesn’t come as a surprise it rather confirms my feelings before the final game. I have that feeling Portugal is going to win even though I had an after thought when Ronaldo was stretched off the pitch in the 25th minute. Let’s take a look at my reason.

France were playing very well from the beginning of the tournament. They were very confident, not only do they have a very good team but also they are playing in front of home fans.

They carry on with this confidence weapon all through the group matches until the semifinals. Then they met Germany, the tournaments favourite and reigning world champions. Alas, they demolished the German machines by 2 goals.

Portugal on the other hand got to the finals riding on some luck. They only manage to get 3 draws in their group games, and got through to next round as best loser.

But all the way, they believed!

Fast forward to the Finals.. France, because of way they demolished the Germans are feeling like champions. Some pundits calling the final match a formality. Alas, Le Blues decided to drop their major weapon - CONFIDENCE.... for another weapon OVERCONFIDENCE... It backfires and Portugal with their only weapon - BELIEVE became the European Champions..

MORALS - For business startups and entrepreneurs, be a bit of Portugal and bit France. BELIEVE in yourself and execute your dream with CONFIDENCE but when you start getting results don’t lose focus and get OVERCONFIDENT.
