I’m vibing to the chorus of Phyno’s ‘Okpeke’ as I type this. Asides the fact that I’m in love with indigenous languages being spoken anywhere, anyday, The lyrics are, like majority of Nigerian songs simply hilarious.
I’d never given much thought to how the year would go before I actually started it. In retrospect, the anxiety I experienced in registering, the worry that was constantly on my mind before I got posted and the disappointment I felt when I saw my state were rather pointless.
You’ve inspired me to document all my reading this year. I can’t even give a name to my reading tastes, as they vary(a lot). I ended 2017 with a serious interest in African literature(Born a Crime was DEFINITELY one of my favourites), I was also drawn to literature following the Nigerian Civil war narrative.
