Super quick makeup for the ‘School Run Mum’.
My kids are 7 and 4, so in between making and supervising breakfast, washing and dressing both of them, doing their hair and shouting 6198538 times to “brush your teeth!!”, I barely get time to shovel down a soggy weetabix let alone do a full glam for the school run.
I do however, do a couple of things (which take me 5 mins) so I feel I’ve made a little effort which for me help with self confidence, motivation and just a feeling that I’m ‘ready’ for whatever the day throws at me.

- I religiously cleanse my skin in the morning when I wake up, apply a serum — current fave is Glow Serum by Lumene and a good moisturiser with spf. I do this without thinking, it takes no extra time and it just primes my skin.
- Once the kids are sorted with breakfast, I grab 5 mins to put on my trusty Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder foundation (with either a damp beauty blender, buffing brush or my fingers). This foundation is seriously amazing stuff. I will continue to repurchase for as long as it is available — Its beautiful light coverage is perfect for adding luminosity to the skin without looking like you’re wearing heavy foundation.
- A quick dab of under eye brightening corrector from Becca is a GODSEND for puffy dark under eyes and a must for a tired mum in a hurry. If I have another minute to spare, I’ll put some concealer on now where needed but I don’t always bother.

4. I will then do my brows — the one thing I personally never miss out. I usually use Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Wiz in Medium Brown to draw in any hair strokes needed to give the natural shape I like. Next, I use Anastasia’s brow Gel to brush up the hairs and keep them in place all day. There’s a reason why Anastasia is queen of brows — Her products are brilliant! Another brand with good range of brow products is Benefit.

5. Next is a sweep of bronzer, either from Charlotte Tilbury (Filmstar Bronze & Glow duo) or Benefit Hoola. Ain’t nobody got time for any contouring malarkey, the kids are winding each other up now in the kitchen and I probably have another 20 seconds before I need to go and break up a Spiderman vs My Little Pony induced fight.
6. Curling my lashes makes me look more awake and I use the Kevin Aucoin curlers. Finished off with a quick coat of Maybelline mascara, I’m ready to herd them up to apologise for whatever carnage they have caused and brush their teeth.
