How To Survive the Over Saturated Ocean of Edtech

Do you ever feel like you’re drowning in an over saturated ocean of edtech tools? Worse yet, do you lose sleep at night because it’s a nightmare to aggregate data from these disparate platforms to tell a coherent story about your students? You’re not alone.

The edtech market is bombarding educators with tools designed to help them complete a single learning or classroom management task. The Otus Student Performance Platform is a single system that lets teachers, administrators, parents, and students consolidate the number of different (and disconnected) edtech tools they use into a common platform while integrating data from 3rd party assessments that typically sit in a lonely data warehouse. Otus was created to be a one-stop-shop for learning, classroom, and data management tools.

“A platform that provides a more efficient connection between data and action is critical,” stated Dr. Colleen M. Pacette, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Assessment in Gurnee School District 56.

Rather than paying for 7–8 individual edtech solutions, take the best of each and put them into a single platform. This is Otus — — Data Management, Assessment Management, and Classroom and Learning Management. Moreover, Otus helps teachers email or text parents, create student portfolios, and compile a soon-to-be-released student profile created through our partnership with Thrively and your district’s academic data.

What Otus has been able to accomplish in just a few years is remarkable. Teachers and administrators are freed up from the tedious work needed to maintain multiple systems so they can spend more of their valuable time engaging the students and learning together.

Benefits of Using Otus

  • Teachers have a single platform to access all of the tools and information needed to make data-informed decisions for students.
  • School leaders gain visibility into real-time, holistic student growth and performance data.
  • Parents feel connected and are able to support learning at home.
  • Students are empowered by an organized approach to technology that is consistent across classrooms.

If you would like to learn more about Otus, you can follow us on Twitter, check out our blog, or watch our videos on YouTube. We’re also launching a Facebook group in the near future for educators to share ideas and best practices. See you at ISTE 2018!
