As a self-proclaimed “pasta-holic”, Jessica figured Noodles would be a great fit as a first job. Fast-forward 3 years and she’s now a Journey Leader teaching and training new hires in her restaurant, attending school to be a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, and is one of our 2019 Noodles scholarship recipients.

Read Jessica’s full Q+A below:

Q: Why did you make the decision to work at Noodles?

A: I really enjoyed the food and saw they were hiring. I went in for dinner one night and thought it would be a great fit since I am a pasta-holic!

Q: How has Noodles impacted your life?

A: It has given me a good start into the workforce. I have made some great friendships with coworkers and have learned how to communicate with strangers.

Q: Tell us a little bit about what your Noodles journey has been like.

A: I have been at Noodles for 3 years now. At first I only worked up front, but now I have learned every station — which is nice to change it up every now and then. Recently, I have become a Journey Leader.

Q: What has been the most rewarding on your Noodles journey?

A: Receiving the scholarship was very encouraging and an immense financial help during my freshman year of college. I have also loved building relationships with my coworkers.

Q: What advice would you want to give other Noodlers, or future-Noodlers interested in a career at Noodles?

A: I would want to tell them to try all of the positions in the restaurant to better understand the role everyone plays and to become a more versatile employee. And always communicate, it makes everything easier!

Q: Where are you planning on attending school? What are you planning on studying?

A: I currently attend the University of Northern Colorado and I am studying nursing.

Q: What makes you most excited about going to school? What goals/dreams do you have after completing school?

A: I am excited about going to school because I get to learn about the things that I am most passionate about. After I complete school, I would like to become a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to help the little babies!

Q: What is your go-to, favorite menu item?

A: My favorite menu item is the Pesto Cavatappi.
