For the record the machine guns are Vickers ‘K’ guns, originally pivot mounted guns for aircraft which were available to the SAS in North Africa in 1942. They had a very hig rate of fire but were reasonably light — the Commandos used them (with a pistol grip and butt stock) instead of Bren guns duriing the Normandy landings and they were used by British Airborne recon jeeps at Arnhem.
