The Imposter
Pablo Stanley

You hit the nail right on the head. I’m a freshman Comp Sci major, and recently I’ve been feeling a lot of self-doubt about whether I’m cut out for software engineering or not. Its felt like everyone around me has been programming since they were 5, whereas I’ve only been programming (sometimes sporadically) for 2 years.

I’ve recently started expressing my fears. That’s turned into accepting what I don’t know and looking for answers. Strangely enough, it turns out that — GASP — I’m not the only one who feels this way! Additionally, there are people around willing to help, free of judgement. Never be scared to ask questions. For as long as you are, you’re inhibiting your own growth.
