Redevelopment Works of Safdarjung Railway Station kick-starts!

The Railways have kick-started the Redevelopment Works of the Northern Railway’s Safdarjung Railway Station.

The Railway Station is to be redeveloped at a Sanctioned Cost of Rs. ₹ 384.70 Crores and will be well-equipped with all the modern world-class facilities and amenities. This clearly depicts the aim & vision of the Ministry of Railways which comes under the aegis of the Government of India that is dedicated to providing rail passengers with a class apart train journey experience accompanied by comfort.

With the laying down of the R.C.C. (Reinforced Cement Concrete) Footings, the Foundation Work of the railway station has been initiated to give it a completely new look to it in the near future. The work of casting the retaining wall, columns, and slabs along with the Anchor Drilling and Grouting is also in full swing. The pace at which the redevelopment work is being initiated shows the Government’s dedication to the welfare of the country’s citizens.

The futuristic railway station will be decked with various modern and latest facilities like Food Plaza, Kids’ Play Areas, separate waiting areas, shops selling vivid traditional antiquities, spacious parking lots, etc., to name a few. This initiative will completely make the waiting time more comfortable for the rail passengers who wait to catch the trains at the railway station.
