The inaugural NFT Brisvegas event happened last night, read ahead to learn what it’s all about and who was there.

Hosted at the Paddo Tavern in Paddington and run by Winnie of the Outback Martians, the inaugural event of NFT Brisvegas took place last night (June 4). The event was a way to meet other NFT enthusiasts and the people behind some of the different Aussie projects. I found the night to be rather enjoyable and it was great to both meet the people behind some of my favourite collections and learn about a couple of new ones.

The Projects

So, who was represented?

Most of the project representatives in attendance via @NFTBrisvegas

Outbackmartians (Twitter) were the minds behind the event, who took on the task to put things together. They are a project focused around using NFTs to promote comedy and mental health, because as we all know, laughter is the best medicine. They were represented by Winnie, Larrikin and Ankle Biter.

Metabogans (Twitter) should be familiar to anyone who’s been following my writing. They are a project built around integrating NFTs with a brewery and bar (both in the real world and the metaverse). They were represented by CazD.

GOALS (Twitter) are a project trying to provide solace to anyone who has been unfortunate enough to be a subject of a rugged project. Their goal is to name and shame those that abuse the space. They were represented by NFTQueen and He Who Is Paul.

Beefy Blokes (Twitter) are a project trying to build a supportive community of like-minded people and fuel the transition to web3. They were represented by fatson.eth, luismorzone.eth and hughezy.eth.

Arcadians (Twitter) are a project built around giving back to the community in the aftermath of the 2022 QLD-NSW floods. They are building a digital mud army and community of people happy to be giving back.

Charity Token (Twitter) are a project designed to make being charitable as simple as possible. Their product is intended to directly connect donors to the charities, completely skipping any middlemen and using blockchain technology to make transactions completely transparent. They were represented by Chris Manski.

Good Girls (Twitter) are building a production house in the film3 space. Their first project will be a short film funded by an NFT collection. They were represented by Paradox, AshSlay and phantasticuniverse.eth.

The Events

So what actually happened?

Most of the night consisted of getting to meet and network with the other attendees. Everyone had the chance to chat with plenty of the other attendees over food and drinks, and really take the chance to understand the human element behind the web3 community.

The first big event of the night was ‘NFT Speed Dating’. Not quite what it sounds like, this event was a chance to move around and take the time to stop and interact with every one of the projects in attendance.

The other notable event was a fast-paced beer pong tournament, where each project selected a community representative to play for them. With a clean sweep, the winner was Durry Bloke.

What’s Next?

So the event’s over and done, where to from here?

NFT Brisvegas was not just a once-off. Barely off the heels of the first event, the next one is already shaping up to be even more. To make sure you’re up to date with what’s going on and grab your ticket for the next one, go ahead and follow the twitter page.

Can’t wait to see you at the next event!
