Novopangea Pack Breaks!
One of the most exciting things that takes place within the WAX community are the Novopangea pack breaks. It is undoubtedly the most fun way to acquire assets for the game. Founder of Novopangea, Yocreati and Community Manager, Franklin lead the community in an exciting adventure with every pack break while helping build each participant’s game empire. For an example, click the video below to see what happened when a Mythic Creature was opened on a recent Pack Break stream.
For those unfamiliar with the general concept of a pack break, it basically consists of paid participants taking slots within a break with defined rules. Throughout the break, the hosts of the break will open packs of cards as defined in the break for the participants on a livestream. Novopangea Pack Breaks are hosted on Twitch for participants and viewers to enjoy. Once the break is over, a winner is declared in accordance with the defined rules and the winner will receive their cards and any prizes predetermined in the rules of the break. Simple right?
Below are the three(3) current break styles and rules for each.
STORY PACK PACK BREAKS
A Story Pack Break usually contains six(6) spots and each of the spots are tied to one of the Novopangea Realms. When the break begins, each of the six(6) participant’s names are placed on a wheel and spun to randomly assign each participant a Realm of Novopangea. When the packs are opened, the participant gets to keep every card that was pulled from that Realm. If a Mythic rarity card is pulled, the wheel is spun again to see who receives it.
In every Traditional Pack Break participants keep every card opened from their packs regardless of what cards are pulled from their packs unless otherwise defined in the rules in the Novo Shop.

TOURNAMENT PACK BREAKS
A Tournament Pack Break differs from a Traditional Pack Break in that it can contain many more participants and is “seeded” prior to the break on a separate livestream. In the example below you’ll find that this Tournament Pack Break has 16 participants. Before the break, names of participants who purchased a spot are drawn at random and placed in the brackets to compete against each other.
Once the break begins, the predetermined packs will be opened for each participant. In the above example, the hosts will open a single pack for each participant. The person who receives the highest number of total Creator Credits (learn more about Creator Credits by clicking HERE) or the highest rarity, according to the predefined rules of the specific break, will advance to the next round. If there is a tie then the player with the lowest mint number on their cards will advance. This process continues throughout each bracket until the final bracket where the two(2), so far, undefeated participants face off against each other. The winner of that bout will be the champion and receive the predetermined Grand Prize.
The Tournament Pack Breaks are popular as the potential to make a “run” of several wins is possible, therefore maximizing your winnings.
In every Tournament Pack Break participants are competing against each other but will also keep every card opened from their pack regardless if they win or lose their bracket unless otherwise defined in the rules in the Novo Shop.

SURVIVOR PACK BREAKS
Similar to the Traditional Pack Break, a Survivor Pack Break can contain many more participants and is “seeded” prior to the break on a separate livestream. In a Survivor Pack Break however, the seeding is done a little differently. Before the break, names of participants who purchased a spot are drawn at random and placed in a simple list based on the order in which the names were drawn.
Once the break begins, the predetermined packs will be opened for each participant, beginning with the first two(2) names on the list. The hosts will open the predetermined packs for the first two(2) participants and the person who receives the highest number of total Creator Credits (learn more about Creator Credits by clicking HERE) or the highest rarity, according to the predefined rules of the specific break, will advance to the next round. The losing participant is eliminated and does not continue further. If there is a tie then the player with the lowest mint number on their cards will advance. This process continues throughout each round with one person being eliminated and one person advancing to the next round.
During a Survival Pack Break there are also Bonus Rounds & Prizes to be won. In the example below you will see that the winners of these specific rounds will not only receive their opened cards but will also receive a prize for winning that specific round.
- Round 1 — NFT Prize

- Round 7 — Token Prize
- Round 9 — NFT Prize
- Round 11 — NFT and Token Prize
At the end of the Survivor Pack Break there will be one participant that outlasts everyone. That participant will win the predetermined Grand Prize for that break.
