Good morning! Todays devotional is just a reminder of Gods strength and how he helps us to be strong. The strength that God gave to Joseph in this text is something total opposite of physical strength. It wasn’t the kind that guys boast or brag on but it was true spiritual strength. The steadiness of his bow represents the steadiness that we will ultimately have living a life with Christ. When you live with Gods strength you will find that things that once proved to be so difficult are not as difficult and don’t bother you as much anymore. When storms arise the strength of God causes us to go through them differently and we realize that he will never put more on us than we can bare. The capitalization of “Mighty One”, “Shepard”, and “Rock of Israel” represents the dominance of Gods power. If God was weak in sin then there would be no need to assert these titles. Genesis is is apart of the books of the law and things that are capitalized mean that they are of importance so the fact that these titles are indeed capitalized it is because the writer of the text wants the reader to know just how strong and powerful our God is. If you feel like you are being defeated today just remember that God will never give you more than you can handle and he is you strength.
