AN EDUCATIONAL PROJECT

IN THE WARMH OF HOME

Iñaki and I, explains Ainhoa Berganza -one of the founders of the home nursery- are from the Basque country and as our families are far away, leaving our daughter with her grandparents was not an option. So we wanted a nursery that would conform to our expectations. We were working on that when Iñaki received some good advice from his friend Leo who, as a primary school teacher, had lots of experience in early childhood education. Why not create something really nice for our children? Why not embark on a unique educational adventure? We were all sold on the idea of starting a home nursery during that Spring lunch. I just knew that the project would be a success because we all believed in it.

In September 2012 the home nursery was a reality. The sunny apartment in the Gothic area where Taida and Lander lived seemed to fit perfectly with our project. From then until the nursery came to an end in June 2014, the project went through a total of four homes in which our children undertook an educational tour accompanied by three other children: Fede, Paula and Joan. During that time, our homes became small jungles. Coming home and seeing the living room swamped was fun. The space was flooded with toys and by various activities the children had undertaken during the day, such as crafts, drawings or stickers. Maybe order did not reign in our home, but it was definitely lived in.

Now Oihan and Lur go to school and they are in the same class. They started in September this year. They love each other a lot and have a relationship that moves us. I think this has been one of our greatest achievements.
