Should I ask how you are doing, please don’t tell me you’re fine. Humans are not created to be just fine, we are created to be more, what happened to being glad? Being grateful? Being amazing? Being happy? Being thrilled? Being phenomenal…

Should I ask about how your day went, don’t tell me your day was fine. Human experiences can not be adequately described by a bearish and bland adjective as fine, words like fine have become banal due to their everyday use.

When people say “I’m fine” this is what comes to my mind — My life is devoid of passion and I’m slowly running out of energy, I am bored stiff, I am sick and tired of my life — I want more out of life but it seems impossible to get my desire — I am depressed but I’m sorry I can’t tell you.

It is trite to say “I am fine” even on a regular day, to be just fine is to be merely alive, to be fine is to be unclear about our feeling or to deny them, to be fine is to conform with our society’s nature of concealing our pain behind a spurious smile

Human beings are created to be vibrant which means to feel, sense and admit whatever we are feeling at the moment. Being honest about our feelings and experiences especially the unsavory ones is way better than shrouding them behind bunch of I’m fines, and that is the first step to overcoming or mastering them.

Let’s speak up when we are not feeling lively and request for all the help we might need, and the earlier they say, the better.

I want you to be more, feel more and admit much more than fine.

Sending love and lights your way💫💫💫

Yours truly,

Olateju.

Peace ✌️.
