A guiding principle throughout President Obama’s career is the belief that when ordinary people get involved, get engaged and come together, things change for the better. After eight years of leading our nation, that principle holds as true as always.

The Obama Foundation is a living, working start-up for citizenship — an ongoing project for us to shape, together, what it means to be a good citizen in the 21st century. The Foundation is based on the South Side of Chicago, and we will have projects all over the city, the country, and the world.

To help us get started, we would love to hear from you. Send us your ideas, your hopes, your dreams about what we can achieve together. Tell us about the people who inspire you and the organizations whose work you admire.

Your ideas, your values, and your input will be vital to our work of inspiring people to get involved and to help young leaders develop their dreams.

Go to Obama.org and share:

  • Your photos, videos or audio testimonials,
  • How President and Mrs. Obama impacted your life,
  • The people who inspire you,
  • The organizations you admire,
  • What we should include in the Center,
  • And, the issues you care about.

Since our launch on Friday, we’ve seen an amazing amount of feedback and input from users around the world. We look forward to building on that input to make this Foundation the best it can be.

We’ll be reading your ideas and thoughts, and we’ll share updates over the coming months. Stay tuned and follow us @ObamaFoundation on Twitter and Instagram.

We look forward to hearing from you.
