UAP’s in History: A deep dive into reports of UFO’s ranging from 1300BC to 1954
This is a chronological investigation into UAP. Cases range from 1300BC to the 1954. UAP’s have been observed in the historical record in ancient times. Some of those are covered as well as cases pre-dating Project Blue Book.
TLDR: This is a long post and it’s very hard to do a good TLDR, but the short version is that there’s an overwhelming amount of reports of UFO’s throughout history and some of them reporting the same disc/saucer shapes as well as cylinder/cigar shapes. These reports are from time periods before airplanes existed. There is also at least one report of “aerial abductions” from 760AD and documented in 1818.

Intro
I’m going to go through a mostly chronological history of UAP. I do have sources for all my information. I’ll be recounting quotes from historians on events from as far back as 1300 BC. I’ll breeze through this section and go into more detail as we hit the 1900’s.
I just find it very interesting what was being reported in ancient times because it not only resembles modern accounts, but it couldn’t possibly have been Russian or American secret technology because America and Russia didn’t exist. It can’t be drones, it can’t even be planes because planes don’t yet exist in that era. Anything in the sky in the 1600’s or 1200’s 200’s or 1300 BC that isn’t a celestial body is perplexing.
Cases
Pharaoh Akhenaton observed a shinning disk in the sky (1347 BC.) This event altered Egyption history as it led to drastic changes in his religious beliefs as well as the society. They began to worship “the sun.”

Glowing orb seen descending then ascending in 76 BC
Molten silver wine jar seen in the sky in 66 AD
Disc-like spark in 540 AD
Changing lights and shape in 596 AD
Air was filled with human figures, ships with sails and battling armies. Several reports of being abducted by aerial beings in 760 AD
This one below I find particularly interesting because of the implications. Jaque Vallee describes how UFO’s could be acting as a kind of control mechanism. Lue Elizondo and others have made it clear that biological effects are well documented and real. I do a fairly deep dive into fleshing out the connection between these two ideas in the post below.

Operation Highjump
This is another interesting case in ufology. I’m not trying to get into “crazy town” speculation on this one. The fact is Operation Highjump did happen. Byrd went to Antarctica with a fleet of ships and troops. The official story is that it was a simply an exploratory and scientific operation. The rumors are that it was a hunt for hidden Nazi encampments. I want to make it clear that the many claims around this story are not verified or established facts. Rumors and speculation aside, the verified facts around this topic make it a very interesting discussion for speculation. Byrd did make some odd claims on the record after this mission that certainly can pique ones curiosity about what may have happened. They don’t authenticate the conspiracy theories at all, but it’s still an interesting topic of discussion because it’s not a huge stretch of the imagination that there’s more to the the official story of Operation Highjump. James Forrestal
1947 Roswell: We cover everything other than Roswell. The coining of “flying saucer” and then the formation of the National Security State

James Forrestal Story
James Forrestal was the first US Secretary of Defense of the newly created Department of Defense on July 26th 1947 just 16 days after the infamous Roswell incident on July 8th 1947. James died March 29th 1949 from a 16 story fall from a window. He was under psychiatric evaluation at the time and his death was ruled a suicide, however details around the death alude to foul play.
Time-line:
July 8th 1947: Roswell event
July 9th 1947: National Security Act is passed in the Senate.
July 19th 1947: National Security Act is passed in the House.
July 26th 1947: President Truman signs National Security Act into law which set up a unified military command known as the “National Military Establishment” and the Department of Defense is officially created.
Sept 18th 1947: “National Military Establishment” formally begins operations and CIA is formed. James becomes first US Secretary of Defense under the newly created Department of Defense (DOD).
The efforts to begin the National Security Act started in 1944. However, perhaps by coincidence, it was abruptly passed by the Senate 1 day after Roswell and signed into law 18 days later. 2 months after Roswell the entire military is re-arranged with the creation of the DOD and CIA with James Forrestal put in charge of it all as the first Secretary of Defense. If anybody was in the know it was him. James later had what appears to be a nervous breakdown and was forced to resign in 1949 and in very short time appears to have been Epstiened.
UFO’s Over The White House, 1952
This was during one of the biggest UFO waves in history of the US. These were seen by witnesses and by radar over the White House and the United States Capitol. Jet fighters were scrambled and when they got there all the objects disappeared. When the jets left the objects re-appeared. This made front page headlines around the country. Project Blue Book, which was active at the time didn’t hear about it until the newspaper’s reported it. A Blue Book investigator was stone-walled from investigating the incident and The Air Force attributed it to unusual weather conditions.
One jet fighter that tried to intercept the objects. According to Albert Chop, when ground control asked him “if he saw anything”, he replied “‘I see them now and they’re all around me. What should I do?’…And nobody answered, because we didn’t know what to tell him.”
Stadium of 10,000 Spectators, 1954
In Florence, Italy cigar shaped objects and glowing orbs reportedly hovered over a stadium during a football match. Documented by newspapers at the time.
Miracle of the Sun, Portugal (1917)
Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal 1917:
This event, known as “the miracle of the Sun” was witnessed by 30k-100k people and was recognized by the Catholic Church as a genuine miracle in 1930 due to the overwhelming evidence. It was religious in nature but was accompanied by various UAP and even photographed and documented cases of healing occurred that couldn’t be explained by doctors. Unfortunately, all the camera’s could capture at the time appeared as large white blobs. Jaque Vallee is the first person to interpret this highly religious event as a possible UAP event and discusses it in Passport to Magonia.
The pope canonized the children the apparition first appeared to in 2017 during the centennial of the first apparition. This is a wild historical event when you look at it through the lens of UAP because it’s traditionally considered a religious event. Basically a modern day miracle. I personally find it interesting this massive event happened right before the Spanish Flu outbreak and that the children that saw the apparition and gathered the people to witness the miracle were canonized in 2017, which means the church now considers them saints.
