Upload, GIFs & Post Score
New ways to post video content to Oddshot.tv
Today, we released the ability for users to upload content to Oddshot!
Uploading to Oddshot is extremely simple. On the homepage, you will now notice a new upload icon in the top right of the page (next to Login or your User Profile). Go give it a try!
Uploaded shots have a maximum length of 60 seconds, keeping to our ethos of keeping content short and digestible. For signed in users, the uploads will appear on the “My Shots” page, as if you had taken a shot.
Users can also upload anonymously. If you’ve uploaded anonymously, you can still claim your content to a user account by logging in on the same machine & browser.
The popularity of GIFs has increased exponentially over the past few years. This feature has been available on Oddshot for the past month unannounced as we worked through some of the kinks in the technology.
Now that it’s working perfectly both on the website and in embeds on other platforms, we are happy to officially announce the Oddshot GIF feature.
You can create a GIF highlight from any shot on our website. To do so, navigate to a shot, then look in the bottom right for ‘Create Highlight GIF’.
Here is an example of a GIF taken from the SpaceX rocket landing shot:
Up-votes & Down-votes
There has never really been a way to express your reaction to content on Oddshot in the form of ‘like’ or ‘dislike’. The previous ‘LIT’ button was not really getting used and was a little obscure for new users. We decided to go down a similar path to Reddit, allowing users to up-vote and down-vote content on our platform.
The score of the shot can be viewed in the top left corner of a shot, or on the left side of the shot in the list-view. To use the feature, simply press the up or down arrow. You will need an account to vote on content. This feature will also play a crucial role in our plans for 2017. More on that at a later date.
We look forward to see some awesome content uploaded to our platform!
