Tip Of The Week! Flexible Dieting .

I’ve discovered a whole new way of dieting, and since I’ve been flexible dieting I’ll tell you from experience that I’m loving it!

What is flexible dieting?

So to keep it short, flexible dieting is just IIFYM, (if it fits your macros) and your pretty much allowed to have “fun” calories every day, but like I said, only if it fits your macros! See that cute little pie chart? Lets say your daily intake is 2,000 calories per day (average person), 85% (1,700cals) of your daily intake is whole, minimally dense and good foods! And only 15% (300cals) of that can be treats. Some people go lower in the fun calories, some people go higher, it totally depends on you and your goals!

Can I still hit my goals with flexible dieting?

The answer is YES! As long as your consistently hitting those macros and your daily calorie intake, you will reach your goals!

The Importance of Macros -

Keeping track of your macros is the best way to reach any fitness goal you might have whether it’s weight loss, weight gain, or maintaining weight.

Macros are your protein, fats, and carbs.

Protein-plays a really big role in your diet, it helps preserve lean muscle, while still being able to lose fat. You can say protein eats fat away, now who wouldn’t love that?

Fats- fat is important too, and plays a huge role in the body, its essential for energy and hormonal function

Carbs- carbohydrates provide fuel for good workouts and it helps the body recover. Carbs are so important in any diet along with fats and protein.

Keeping Track of Your Macros

I started tracking my macros about 8 months ago, and I was surprised at how easy it was! I’ve used MyFitnessPal, which I loved! It’s a great app, but I’ve recently discovered LifeSum and it’s my new favorite! All you have to do is scan the bar-code on the box’s or wrappers of any of the food you’re eating! You also add water, fruit, exercise and more! 90% of the time I scan all my foods, they do all the math for you (yay), and it gives you little tips throughout the day. By doing this, I know what’s going inside my body and I feel like I have control of everything I consume.

I hope you liked this blog, and I hope it opens your options a little, I know it did for me. P.S. — I don’t encourage you to cheat every single day! BUT a little treat will do no harm as long as your macros and calories are on point. Enjoy!
