No, I don’t just make them up!

Review scoring system

All my reviews are independent and honest, although personal preference can affect decisions sometimes I try to be impartial and look at what the game offers the player. I want to provide reviews for criticism and curation and believe that the Rubric system cannot provide an adequate method for scoring on its own. Therefore, I have combined my scores with a brief summary to further explain my decisions.

If it’s subjective why bother

Well not everything’s subjective, but reviews can be quite personal and sometimes polarizing, therefore we need a method for comparing things so we can make inform decisions about them; whether it’s which game to buy or what hotel to stay in. Rubric scoring offers this method by giving us a gauge for comparison. It isn’t perfect, and often personal preferences will give us different scores but it gives us an idea.

Scoring system

1/10 — Comatose.

2/10 — Nodded off while playing.

3/10 — Spam on toast.

4/10 — Marmite on toast.

5/10 — Not sure if I want to buy or try.

6/10 — Buy it at a yard sale.

7/10 — It’s good but not great.

8/10 — Birthday pressie.

9/10 — Tell your friends about it.

10/10 — I want to sleep with it.
