Please. Do not Judge us.

The first novel was the bait
Picked it up and the imaginations ran wild
Page 102 or was it 103?
Read the novel once
But those pages we read a hundred times.
The fantasies overstayed their welcome
Till we became award winning porn producers in the thought-industry.
The desire to end it all engulfed us but the Preacher was right
“Alas the Spirit is willing but the Flesh is Weak”

Surfing google for “top 10 american movies”
She stumbled on it and the roller-coaster ride began.
The Obscene Ride was the longest
Downloads upon downloads
Splurging of life savings
But the thirst was unquenchable
Guilt choked her daily but the Preacher was right
” Alas, the things which I do not want to do, I find myself doing. ”

Superman’s vision had nothing on him
The lady in church on the large kaftan was the first experiment
His retina stripped her as he sang the 3rd hymn.
Then the urge consumed his body
A frantic search for a secret place began
Like a stoned being, he satisfied his urge with his own hands
And said to himself amidst the pleasure
‘This is the last time I promise
Next time, I will pluck out my eyes”
.

It has been 7 years and 7 months
Those futile words are still on repeat
Because the Preacher was right
“Not by Power, nor by might but by my spirit saith the Lord. ”

Condemnation strangled her
Fatigue filled the soul
Shame shadowed her steps
As she approached the minister
To relate the story titled
“How We Disappoint the Father”
But the Minister’s eyes shone with love
Her voice resonated hope
She too had a story.
The Minister wiped the tears and whispered
The Preacher is right
For we do not have a High Priest
who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses. ”

It has been 7 years and 7 months
The pious ones heard our stories
and despite our echoes of
“Please do not Judge us”
They shook their heads
Everytime we walked past.

But Grace and Mercy chased after us
Like Jacob longed for Rachael.
We fell sometimes but we rose again
The Word we hid in our hearts
The soup of discipline, prayers and accountability,
We drank daily like thirsty camels.
Now we are conquerors
Thanks to His Reckless Love
And alas the Preacher was right!

But God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it”.

Finally! We can scream! We are no longer slaves to sin!
