A mother has shared a heart-breaking image of her 10-year-old son as he battles leukaemia to raise awareness of the disease.
In an emotional post to Facebook, Jessica Medinger, reveals how her son, Drake, sleeps with her at night because he is scared he might die alone.
The post to group, Love What Matters, starts: ‘This is him, Drake, Stinky Joe, my whole world.
‘From the moment I found out I was pregnant till future forever, he has been my reason for life.
‘He is my smile, my love, my heartbeat. He is also my tears, my heart ache, my frowns. He is my life.’
The image shows her son lent forward over a toilet, bald and sick from chemotherapy.
She continued: ‘Before you scream and cry “why would she post a picture of him in a pull up, the indecency,” well 1. It doesn’t show more than swimming jammers would and 2. Because life is not always politically correct and pretty, it is real.
‘Life isn’t pretty, and cancer destroys a person.’
Drake’s family are collecting money to help with his medical bills on YouCaring and have so far raised $30,000 (£24,000) towards a $10,000 target.
According to the page, the 10-year-old has battled cancer twice and is suffering from the side effects of chemotherapy and medicine.

It also explains, in its latest update, he was admitted to hospital last night in hypovolemic shock, and may be placed on a feeding tube to assist with his eating and drinking.
Drake was first diagnosed with leukaemia in 2012 and has face spinal taps, blood transfusions and surgery.
He went into remission last March, however, six months later was diagnosed with testicular cancer.
The picture was taken after Jessica had carried her don to the bathroom as the chemotherapy has left him too exhausted to move without a wheelchair.
He wears a diaper because he can’t control his bowels or bladder and is required to take 44 pills in a day, many of which he can’t keep down due to vomiting.
Jessica added: ‘This is having your son sleep with you at night because he is afraid of something happening and being alone, and by something I mean dying.
‘This is having middle of the night conversations with a ten year old, asking if he dies will he go to heaven and will he see his dad there and be able to talk and play with him.’
