Always try to observe a customer using the product at some point in the interview. People tend to say one thing, but then do a different thing. The actions that people take are objective, whereas the words people say are usually subjective.
But what about “fake it till you make it”? I’m the first person to admit, faking it is absolutely crucial for getting in the door. But once you’re in, you need to cut the faking it and focus on making it.
