People who create clickbait type articles are usually not in it for principle, but for their own…

I’m sorry if you feel like the title discredits the work itself. At the time I didn’t have much of an audience and no real intention to this piece other than to get it off my chest. The “clickbait” title was more of a reflection of my anger and emotion at the time that I was writing this. I will be the first to admit that it probably contributed to the popularity of the piece, but I think that was only possible due to the underlying truth of those words.

You should also know that other than gaining some additional social media followers, there has been essentially zero profit generated for myself through this entire process. If anything, my work was being exploited by many media outlets who saw an opportunity for profit in the same ways that you describe. But I wholeheartedly believe in the message so I chose to put my work out there to as many people as possible with pretty much anyone who asked permission without asking for anything in return.

I hope that gives you a better picture of the situation. I felt the need to respond since the way you described me did not very closely match the reality that I’ve experienced.

Anyway, thank you for reading.
