Are they outbound calls or are they calls based on leads? If they are calling companies who fit into Hubspot’s ideal customer profile and have expressed interest in marketing automation (even in the gentlest way such as asking a question on Quora or commenting on a blog post) then Hubspot would probably consider that to still be inbound marketing. If they are buying email lists and calling random people (like in the Seinfeld episode) … which I highly doubt … then that would be outbound. I suspect that Hubspot’s tactics are still broadly aligned with an inbound strategy, noting that the boundaries have shifted a bit.
