This is one of the reasons am skeptical about the new wave of “activism”. The “intellectual” , the “celebrity” . I question the altruism behind their endeavours. Constantly milking off the sufferings of the people with a subtle desire for personal aggrandizement. Probably why Foucault thinks the hoi polloi don’t need the intellectual for awakening of consciousness.

You’d however hear them say “ Whether Paul or Apollos, the gospel of justice is being preached” ..
