On.Live from the beginning was conceived as an open marketplace for various live services and broadcasting. This attitude is different in its core from almost all other video platforms in general and live streaming platforms in particular. We do think about our customer financial benefits. Great monetizing options for services provided by and for our users were our primary goal, not just simple afterthought.
Since our business model assumes providing a beneficial ecosystem for everyone, we have employed the whole spectrum of monetization models, and we are allowing mixing and matching those to provide maximum flexibility and options which fit particular needs and expectations.
The most important factor for our users, despite all the monetization modes is absolute freedom in setting the prices for services. We leave it in hands of our users, and we are convinced that it’s the best way to do it. Also we think our users must have easy options to choose from, in setting up their live services business.
For these reason we are providing several monetization models built in right from the start. Most obvious are PPV and PPM. These are self-explanatory. With them service providers can set up their own prices per-view or per-minute, depending on the particular needs. Channel subscription model, so popular in VOD platforms is also present and also fully customizable. Additionally, by default our platform offers in stream tips and donation system which opens whole new areas, for instance facilitating such activities like game streaming or online product presentations and sells, all on premise and within one integrated system.
We also plan to implement in-stream advertising, and affiliation programs to extend money making possibilities. Advertising can become lucrative source of income for On.Live video providers, especially after establishing large viewer base.
We are convinced, current monetizing options in On.Live are great and distinguishing against competition, but we surly will introduce others, with rising user needs and market opportunities. We want to make On.Live the place where anyone can set up financially viable live streaming business model, customized to one’s needs and capabilities.
