On the stage of Polkadot Hackathon 2023 Summer, there are a group of dream-driven participants who fight tirelessly day and night to develop highly marketable new projects. They gathered here, aiming to blaze a new path for Web3 entrepreneurship from 0 to 1.

Having journeyed through six seasons, Polkadot Hackathon has served as an “incubator” for new start-ip projects, accelerating projects such as CESS, Manta Network, Parallel, Web3Go, Deeper Network, Echodao, AdMeta, PrivaDEX, and more to set sail successfully. The competition has also introduced various activities and resources, offering limitless technological imagination to enthusiasts who love the Polkadot ecosystem. Now, Polkadot Hackathon Summer 2023 is coming to the final, with 25 participating projects successfully emerging from the preliminary stages, embarking on their final push towards the highest honor.

On July 13–14, Demo Day of the final will take place, you will witness the qualifying projects showcase their design creativity, analyze market prospects, and unveil stunning development works. Top tech experts will be present, providing insightful and sharp feedback for the selected participating projects. Today, let’s take a look at all the participating teams and the teams that have advanced through the preliminary round! Advancing Team in Preliminary Round

Since May 12th, countless Web3 enthusiasts from around the world have gathered at Polkadot Hackathon Summer 2023. Through online live broadcasts, they team-uped and found suitable project partners. They honed their competition works through four pre-competition workshop sessions. Through countless days and nights, they presented unique Web3 projects in this Polkadot Hackathon. With their passion, creativity and inspiration, they have led us to explore a whole new Web3 frontier.

With over 300 participants and 80 teams, what allowed 25 teams to break into the finals amidst the intense competition? Building parachains, smart contract platforms, and blockchain tools… These projects, combining unique creativity and market potential, are about to step onto the public stage. Below is the list and descriptions of the projects that have advanced through the preliminary round (qualifying for the Demo Day of the finals) of Polkadot Hackathon Summer 2023! Let’s take a look at the teams that successfully stood out and will soon meet everyone at Demo Day! (Listed in order of the Github repository number, ranking is not in any particular order).

01-NFT Fi Twitter

The idea of NFT-Fi-Twitte comes from the CZ’s reply to Elon Musk about how to reduce bots and increase revenue for Twitter. NFT-Fi Twitter is a NFT powered WebExtension project that provides the Finance solution for Twitter Web.

02-Metor

Metor is a lightweight storage chain that can be integrated with any blockchain. It lowers the barrier for novice developers to participate in decentralized storage. Users can join by simply having spare storage space and common hardware devices.

03-Dandelion

Dandelion aims to build a reusable airdrop launch platform driven by a community economic model, based on the Polkadot ecosystem. By combining the blockchain economic model with the community, Dandelion seeks to deeply connect project teams with users and explore the potential of airdrop models. The project strives to maximize the benefits and minimize costs for all parties involved.

04-MPC Wallet

Self wallet is wallet projects based on abstract account of EIP-4337. It allows users to complete the transfer function without purchasing gas fees during contract transfer.

05-ChatDatainsight

AIShow is a decentralized AI model sharing and creation platform where everyone can generate their own treasure girl/boy. In AIShow, all data uses distributed storage. Users can publish their own AI models. AIShow will also integrate with ChatGPT, introduce evolvable NFT technology, and endow them with evolvable digital images.

07-Cybros Network

Cybros Network is a blockchain-based async jobs scheduler, and introduce tons of classic Web2 features into the Web3 world in a native way. Combined with Web 3 composability, it could derive new product forms. In addition, Blockchain tokenomic could help reduce end-user fees and improve computing power providers income.

08-DTIM

DTIM is a distributed instant messaging software based on the matrix communication protocol. The goal of DTIM is to provide a secure, efficient and transparent working communication environment. The main functions include real-time communication and collaboration, integrating chat, voice / video conference and other functions, allowing interaction, sharing ideas and effective communication at any time.

09-Bahen

Bahen is a decentralized distributed machine learning solution that aims to provide developers of AI applications with a new solution for model training and application deployment. It also aims to create a transparent and open data trading marketplace for users. Computer systems with idle GPU computing power can connect to the Bahen Network, leveraging a global pool of unused GPU resources. This not only helps address the gap in computing resource supply and demand but also provides more cost-effective services.

10-DeepDiary

DeepDiary is based on deep leaning and web3 technology, It extracts features from your pictures, videos, diary text, chatting records, gps records. DeepDiary upholds the development philosophy of user-first, reputation as the top priority, and integrity for mutual success. It aims to achieve deep learning of user-stored information.

11-Nomocracy

EightFish is a newly developed framework for Open Data Applications (ODA) created by the team. It implements the Open Data Application Model (ODAM). Unlike most DApps that rely on smart contract blockchain technology stacks, EightFish has created its own blockchain network and does not depend on any other Web3 layer or service sovereignty.

12-Dynamo

Dynamo is an all-in-one chatbot platform based on Web3 data. By training datasets, building and managing chat apps. It will interact with AI, enjoy entertainment and education, and explore new credential patterns.

13-MatrixAI

MatrixAI is committed to breaking the current centralized monopoly, bringing innovation and progress to AI applications across various industries. MatrixAI offers more flexible, efficient, and cost-effective AI computing solutions for computing power consumers.

14-Amphi

Amphi is a Web3 + AI language service marketplace that offers not only online translation services but also offline proxy services such as cross-border e-commerce, media translation, and international proxy consulting. It aims to make language services more convenient to get by leveraging cutting-edge technology to address the high costs and information asymmetry between translators and clients. As a one-stop Web3 language service marketplace, Amphi provides a seamless entry point for Web2 users to access Web3.

15-Future Tool

Battleship is a foundational development tool that provides zero-knowledge proofs. The project demonstrates the capabilities and effectiveness of the development tool using a simple battleship naval combat game as an example.

16-D-DNS

D-DNS is an innovative project designed to overcome these challenges by leveraging blockchain technology and a distributed network of DEP nodes. By decentralizing DNS resolution services, D-DNS empowers users to interact with the Internet safely, efficiently and reliably.

17-Mimir

Mimir is an asset management tool focused on user interaction, presenting various Polkadot ecosystem pallets in a productized format. It supports not only single-signature addresses but also multisig addresses. Users can access various existing Polkadot ecosystem applications through Mimir using multisig addresses. Additionally, Mimir will also develop its own DApps, productizing Polkadot pallets for user convenience.

18-ArtiFact

ArtiFact enables users to truly own their unique AI-generated creations. Originating from a commitment to solve the issue of ownership of AI-generated works, ArtiFact provides a platform for users to create, mint into NFTs, thus truly owning their AI-generated art, music, text, or any form of digital content.

19-Cyborg

Cyborg Network is a decentralized edge computing platform that leverages blockchain to enable IoT sensors and gateways with low-latency data processing and transmission, while offering improved storage and distributed architecture for increased security and transparency. With a blockchain-based approach, the platform provides superior data governance, privacy, and incentives for edge server providers, making it a secure and decentralized solution for any individual or project in need of edge servers.

20-Dauth Network

DAuth is a trustless, anonymous protocol for social account authentication. DAuth has developed a Hybrid Zero-Knowledge (ZK) architecture that allows for real-time conversion of off-chain social account authentication into fully decentralized and privacy-preserving proofs that can be verified on-chain. This system is pioneering in its proposal of a Web3 native social account login method and two-factor authentication (2FA).

21-CBIndex

As a decentralized asset management platform, CBIndex provides various crypto investment tools built on the CBI protocol. It delivers a democratized ecosystem where anyone can effortlessly make crypto investment decisions by copying seasoned investors or participating in active and index funds.

22-CryptoSpiral

CryptoSpiral is a decentralized privacy promotion platform. Its key feature revolves around localized and specialized promoters, utilizing DAO and privacy to facilitate efficient and secure promotion and dissemination for web3 projects.

23-Trypto

Trypto is a collaborative management system that enables secret sharing based on user-specific characteristics. It aims to provide a secure, reliable, and user-friendly way for users to share sensitive information in a decentralized environment while protecting their personal privacy and data security. The system can be used in various scenarios such as DAO tools, multisignature wallets, asset management, and company collaboration systems. It is expected to provide a more secure and convenient solution in the fields of decentralized applications and digital asset management.

24-SuperPetGamecc

SuperPetGame is a desktop pet game. The game information is stored on the chain and guaranteed not to be deleted. In addition, the game also provides a pet trading function.

25-Polkadot Smart Account

Polkadot Smart Account is the implementation of smart contract accounts in the Polkadot ecosystem. It refers to the EIP4337 standard, is based on the ink! contract language, and has been adjusted and optimized according to the architecture of Polkadot. In the future, it will also provide a pallet version for practical use. As an account abstraction project based on the Polkadot ecosystem, the goal of Polkadot Smart Account is to provide users in the Polkadot ecosystem with a more convenient and secure account management method.

13:00–17:30 Check-in and Rehearsal for participating projects. The rehearsal time for each project is 10 minutes. It will be conducted in the order determined by the final draw.

10:00–12:00 Demo presentations for the first half are about to begin.

Judging Rules of DemoDay

Congratulations on making it to Demo Day of the finals! You are just one step away from achieving the highest honor. Understanding the judging criteria is crucial for finding the key to scoring points and successfully advancing. Let’s take a look at the judging rules for Polkadot Hackathon 2023 Summer together!

Presentation Suggestions

  • Cover display: demonstrate core highlights of the product and summarize the core concept of the product in one sentence
  • Project introduction: project introduction + industry positioning: why you are doing this project + industry benchmarking project + advantages + industry prospects
  • Product details: target the pain points of users, introduce the advantages, reduce the use of buzzwords. Introduce the steps in detail to avoid falling into “journal account”. Show market prospects (verify that the product has the application market and commercial potential). Use a chart to show various types of research and analysis methods and results
  • Team introduction: team members’ relevant experience + team structure
  • Future planning: one-year Milestone planning + what functions will be implemented in the next three months

Judging Dimensions

The hackathon finalists (scoring 50% of the total score) will be scored in the following two dimensions:

The initial evaluation accounts for 50% of the total score on the technical dimension

  • Technical Difficulty (20%): The problems being solved have a certain technical threshold, and there is a significant breakthrough at the technical level.
  • Project Completion (20%): The project is fully implemented, going beyond mere concepts, with a complete demo/proof of concept (POC) presentation.
  • Compliance (10%): The project is submitted within the specified timeframe and adheres to the required standards.

The final Demo Day contribute 50% of the total score on business dimension.

  • Business Value (20%): It can address problems and can be applied in industry scenarios you are familiar with.
  • Innovativeness (20%): It has a fresh concept, breakthrough elements, and challenges conventional thinking.
  • User Experience (10%): This includes the intuitiveness and comprehensibility of the proposed solution for potential users.

Special Note: Demo Day project presentation will be a key factor in the final evaluation, accounting for 50% of the total score.

Note

  • Please prepare the DemoDay presentation as soon as possible. The demo presentation time is 6 minutes for each team and 6 minutes for Q&A.
  • The order of presentation will be decided by lottery on Polkadot Hackathon 2023 Summer Offcial WeChat Group. If you can’t come to the offline hackathon, please contact the official on time.
  • Teams will be required to present their work in the form of a live roadshow to explain the process of implementation and the final product.
  • The intellectual property rights of all materials submitted by the teams belong to the teams. The materials will only be used for the awarding and promotion of the competition.
  • The final right of interpretation of this hackathon belongs to OneBlock+ & Parity officials.
