To My Newest Friend Jasmine:
Renata Camara

Thank you for your kind and thoughtful response.

I would love to see a poem about such a topic. If marriage is a solution to womanhood there is a large gap remaining for the leftovers as some put it. There is definitely room for exploration on this topic. If marriage is a great source of joy for those who have it. Why is there the implied pain of marriage as seen through media and forms of entertainment. Or the larger issue of choosing to remain unmarried and childless as a life choice. My whole interest is the idea of women being left out of positive representations in society if they decide not to wed or marry at all. Should happiness not also be afforded to them for choosing not to marry or procreate?

Agreed you are Renata and I am Jasmine no need for the titles that are consistently imposed upon women.
