The gaming world has seen many shifts in trends and preferences over the years. Today, we are excited to share the results of a survey conducted by One Lab that sheds light on a new potential gaming trend among young gamers in the USA.

Background and Motivation

The core inspiration behind the survey stemmed from skepticism among industry experts. Despite level of interest in our mobile app, which offers gold-backed rewards for gamers, many believed that children both would be our primary market and that they might not have an interest in gold, or specifically gold rewards. To validate our belief that this was not the case and understand our audience better, we embarked on a mission to hear directly from the children themselves.

Survey Methodology

We surveyed around 100 children aged 5 to 17 through educational programs to secure a representative sample. The survey was facilitated by teachers, with respondents answering a concise set of yes/no questions. The process was designed to be anonymous and conducted with pen and paper, ensuring that no identifying data was collected.

Key Findings

Here are the crucial takeaways from our survey:

  1. Gold & Gaming: A whopping 71.74% of the respondents expressed an interest in earning gold by playing mobile games.
  2. Mobile Gamers & Gold: Among children who already play games on their mobile phones, 73.53% showed interest in our gold-earning proposition.
  3. Non-Mobile Gamers & Gold: Surprisingly, 2 out of every 3 respondents who don’t currently play mobile games expressed the same interest.
  4. Gold Affinity: Gold seems to be quite popular among this age group, with 91.3% of respondents having a liking for it. Among them, 79% were interested in our gold-backed rewards.
  5. Gaming & Gold Disinterest: Of the small portion (8.7%) of respondents who didn’t like gold, none were interested in our app’s proposition. Half of these respondents were still gamers.
  6. Dual Interest: Among the respondents who are both gamers and have a liking for gold, 78.13% were keen on earning gold through mobile games. This presents a sweet spot for our mobile app.

Implications for One Lab

Extrapolating from our survey data and using the current US Census Bureau numbers, we estimate that around 15,278,147 young individuals in the USA have a potential interest in using One Lab’s app.

Contrary to skepticism by some, our survey has shown that a significant number of young gamers in the US are interested in earning gold-backed rewards through their gameplay. As we continue to innovate and grow, we’re enthusiastic about catering to this vast potential user base and enriching their gaming experience.

Thank you for being a part of this journey with us. To the future of gaming and gold! 🎮🥇
