Meet the OneLedger Team: 9 — Sergei Sachkov
Through this article, we would like to introduce to our community, Sergei Sachkov, the latest addition to the OneLedger team. Sergei will be working as the Senior Blockchain Developer at OneLedger. Formerly, a professor and a scientist at Pacific National University in Russia, he has spent ten years teaching computer science to students and conducting research on fluid dynamics. Sergei has over two years of experience working as a lead software architect at Orient Express Bank, where he was leading a group of five developers.
Since moving to Canada, Sergei has spent five years as a senior software developer, creating multi-platform 3D graphics engines and performing general-purpose computations on graphical processing units at Geosoft, a company focused on data management software for mapping and modelling the Earth’s surface. For the last couple of years, Sergei has worked at several blockchain start-ups and has developed a deep understanding of cryptography and, in particular, the Bitcoin source code.
Sergei has a PhD in Mathematics and Physics from the Russian Academy of Science with specialization in computational and applied mathematics.
Sergei believes that his broad knowledge in IT technologies will help to speed up the development process at OneLedger. His primary role is to work on the drivers' side, bringing together different chains under the umbrella of the OneLedger blockchain.
“Blockchain has a very interesting future, and the power to disrupt many industries in the world. OneLedger is presently working on filling up a major gap in the blockchain technology, and I want to help them with this. OneLedger is developing a technology which has the potential to change the world, and I definitely want to be a part of it,” said Mr. Sachkov.
