Karl Taylor it looks like Google is definitely going after sites with Popup ads, specifically in mobile at this time, but they may be preparing to go after popup ads in general on desktop computers. It was simply overlooked on my part to not fully check the website in mobile after implementing the ad code, and although I checked a page here and there, the ads were targeting random pages, so I was not able to accurately see how severe those ads were that brought about a penalty.
Triberr — really awesome to hear from you personally! A combination of your service and Twitter is the ultimate method of getting information out there and has truly done wonders for the website. Aside from Hacker News on YCombinator, the Triberr stream keeps me informed with some of the latest and greatest informative blogs specifically related to my own interests. Google definitely helps with the search engine end of a website, but I think using social media is just as powerful a tool. You have developed such a great platform that helps all bloggers connect and find like-minded people. Definitely appreciate all you do — thank you for your service — keep up the great work!
