VHF walkies operate on the frequencies between 136 and 174 MHz, they work over large distances with lower power consumption. This is because theVHF signal waves can travel a longer distance than the UHF ones. In optimal conditions (clear view — without buildings and mountains) the range is at its best. VHF radios are especially popular in aviation and sea shipping because they function in the air, on water and on the ground. Other examples of places where VHF walkies are often used are gold courses, during outdoor events or for security purposes.
