Oh, What Fun! with Christina Tosi

We invited six women who have revolutionized their respective industries to give us the inside scoop about how they holiday. Kicking off our series is Christina Tosi, an electrical engineer turned pastry chef responsible for one of our favorite places in New York City, Milk Bar. As if that weren’t enough, she also appears weekly as a judge on Fox’s MasterChef and MasterChef Junior.

Christina Tosi is equal parts home baker and trained chef. As a child, she says she was an infamously picky eater, but always had a love for dessert. When her mother cut her off from eating sweets, she stepped into the kitchen to teach herself. She loved it so much, that she decided to go to culinary school and make it her profession. Now, she’s the head of Milk Bar, a bakery whose inspired take on classic childhood flavors has made it a New York staple.

Christina’s penchant for reinventing the familiar is why we love her. We sat down with her to talk to her about the holidays, who inspires her, and what they’re listening to in the Milk Bar kitchen.
