Yes, you are absolutely correct.
I didn’t know about EA not having an official “Game Designer” role, but that would have definitely sounded strange to me, too.

I think the words “Game Designer” make it sound a lot more appealing and a lot more simple than what the role actually is.
This maybe attracts the same kind of attitute towards the position that you see in writers who want to work in the industry.
