This Sunday is Mother’s Day and Operator has been busy helping kids, partners, and friends discover and buy the perfect gifts for the moms in their lives. Our shopping experts have learned that it’s not always easy to find the right gift, and the stakes are high. We wanted to better understand the challenges of Mother’s Day gift-giving, so we asked a thousand parents about their gifting experiences. In this post, we explain what we found.

It’s the Thought That Counts!

Almost half of the moms we surveyed, 44%, say they have had their feelings hurt by a gift that seemed to have little thought put into it. Indeed, 75% of dads say they wish there was an easier way to get the right Mother’s Day gift, and 60% admit they never know what to get mom. Over one-third of moms have gone ahead and treated themselves to a Mother’s Day gift — a guaranteed way to get exactly what they want!
