There are several issues here:
- Does one seek to offer recognised qualifications to develop competences? And/or
- Does one limit ‘certification’ to being a recognition of skills, education and experience — such as traditional professional associations have done; and/or
- Do you offer a membership that links together internal and external professional practitioners and provides them with access to common tools and services at wholesale prices as we are about to do.
I suspect there is/has been a place for 1 & 2, but there is a growing appetite for no 3.
