Medium already is an advertising platform and in this case, it’s content marketing that’s the main method of promotion. Bloggers (myself included), companies, influencers etc. use amazing content to attract people to their message/website/product/service/movement/idea and so on.

This way of promotion isn’t visible on the first glance since it usually provides tons of value to the people and helps build communities focused on certain goals and around certain values. Although this type of advertising is less invasive than the typical paid ads, we can’t deny its existence on Medium.

I hope that in case Medium introduces a more obvious form of advertising, it will not only bring profit to the company (which deffo deserves it btw.) but keep in mind the good of contributors (that bring life into this platform) and more importantly, readers, who are the heart of Medium.
