As we approach the first development since the launch of our Ottez, we thought it was high time we wrote a medium article to explain the Fusion process and our thoughts behind the idea. We are currently working on the interface so there may be some slight changes to the process set out below but we hope they will be minor.
Firstly, why Fusion? Well fusion is a fun concept that means our holders (or those lucky enough to get a Fusion Token) are able to create the pfp of their choice based on the traits they have available to them. Our Ottez are all randomly generated so the combinations produced may not be the exact ones you wish to see in your ideal Ottez, this is a chance to obtain that. As a new project we have many holders who hold multiple Ottez which is understandable and is seen in almost every pfp project launched. We appreciate the support shown by early collectors and the Fusion process is a reward for this. The Gen2 Ottez that will be produced by the Fusion process will be a kind of ‘OG’ status within the project. The Gen2 will be outside the original collection. We aren’t promising that we are developing anything specifically for the Gen2 as it is not our style to promise things that may or may not happen in the future.
We have already taken the snapshot for the Oyster airdrop and, as voted on by the community, excluded Ottez that were listed for sale on any platform. The Oysters are our new mechanism for certain airdrops and will be sent to all holders (unless listed are excluded based on a community vote). The Oysters open or reveal to show whether anything has been won by that holders. In the current drop the Oysters contain a chance to win the Fusion Token needed to undertake the Fusion process and there is roughly a 12.5% chance of getting a Fusion Token. The airdrop will be done on 25/03/2022 and the reveal will happen around 24 hours later (roughly although this may change slightly depending on how the Objkt listing goes).
Once all Oysters have revealed we will establish which addresses have won based on what is inside the Oyster. If the Oyster is empty you have not won this time. If, however, your oyster contains a pearl then you are one of the lucky 500. Those who have won will then receive the Fusion Token via a second airdrop. Note that if you sell your winning Oyster before this second airdrop you will not receive the Fusion Token, the buyer will. We will make it clear at which point the snapshot is taken and will send out warnings not to buy any further winning Oysters. The Fusion Tokens themselves will also be tradeable if you wish to do so.
In respect of Fusion itself, we hope to have the interface ready in early April. We will confirm an exact date closer to launch. The interface will be used to create and produce the Gen2 Ottez. It will allow the user to select the traits that they wish to have present in the Gen2 Ottez. The interface will then establish that the wallet that is being interacted with holds two Ottez with the traits selected and the Fusion Token. You will then have your Gen2 Ottez delivered to you. It will be done on a first come first serve basis in terms of the combination of traits. It is unlikely that there will be an exact copy attempted but if there is the interface will reject the request as it has already been made as a Gen2.
The only trait of the Gen2 that will change when selected is the background as we are making new backgrounds to differentiate the Ottez from the original collection. You will be able to select the colour of background from one of your original Ottez but it will look different to what is currently there. The interface will, however, have a preview available so you will be able to decide what looks best for you. Once you have your Gen2 it is up to you what you do with it. We hope to see some really cool new combo’s being created. It will be fun seeing everyone drop their creations on the discord and twitter.
