The English Premier League (EPL), National Football League (NFL), and National Basketball Association (NBA) are all coming back in action, and Overtime is making this season more thrilling than ever!
Triple Thrill: EPL, NFL, and NBA Rewards
To celebrate the return of the big three, we’re introducing three independent incentive buckets specially tailored for the EPL, NFL, and NBA leagues. That’s right! We’ve got something special lined up for every sports fan out there.
Season Start and End Dates:
EPL: August 11th to May 19th
NFL: September 7th to January 7th
NBA: October 24th to April 14th
Reward Distribution: A Total of 100k OP, ARB and 180k THALES
We’re all about rewarding our passionate community, and this time, we’re going BIG! A whopping total of 100k OP, 100k ARB, and 180k THALES will be distributed across the three leagues, with each league having its own dedicated 30k OP or ARB + 30k THALES bucket per chain, with the NFL RED ZONE starting on Game Week 14 with an extra 10k OP & ARB.
Here’s what it looks like broken down.
1. EPL on Optimism: 30k OP + 30k THALES
2. NFL on Optimism: 3̶0̶k̶ 40k OP + 30k THALES (expired)
3. NBA on Optimism: 30k OP + 30k THALES
4. EPL on Arbitrum: 30k ARB + 30k THALES
5. NFL on Arbitrum: 3̶0̶k̶ 40k ARB + 30k THALES (expired)
6. NBA on Arbitrum: 30k ARB + 30k THALES
Reward Calculation Method: Transparent and Fair
Your rewards are calculated using an updated & straightforward formula:
Pn=(1-X/2)*V
P1 + P2 + P3 + Pn = user points
Where:
P means Points per position
X means Implied odds of the ticket
V means volume
We then divide the total league rewards by all user points in the specific league. This will give you the amount of reward per point.
The formula incentivizes positions with lower odds and higher volume, so the bigger you go, the more rewards you’ll get. The best part? You don’t really need to calculate all of this yourself. You can follow your progress and see your rewards grow on the Dune Dashboard, all transparently and easily accessible.
Example 1: Low Odds with Low Volume
- Implied Odds (X): 0.2 (20% chance of winning)
- Volume (V): 500
- Calculation: Pn = (1–0.2/2) * 500 = 450 points
Example 2: High Odds with High Volume
- Implied Odds (X): 0.8 (80% chance of winning)
- Volume (V): 5000
- Calculation: Pn = (1–0.8/2) * 5000 = 3000 points
Example 3 (Adding up your tickets total points)
- Position 1: X = 0.6, V = 800, Pn1 = (1–0.6/2) * 800 = 560 points
- Position 2: X = 0.4, V = 1200, Pn2 = (1–0.4/2) * 1200 = 960 points
- Total User Points: 560 + 960 = 1520
Keep in mind that parlays involving multiple incentivized leagues will be treated separately in each ranking. For example, a parlay ticket that includes games from the EPL, NBA, and NFL will be counted in each of the three leaderboards, somewhat acting as a 3x multiplier. If the ticket involves games from two leagues, it will be counted twice in the corresponding leaderboards
End-of-Season Reward Distribution
Your hard-earned rewards will be distributed at the end of each respective season. So you’ll have a whole season’s worth of excitement, culminating in a fantastic reward!
