.Oshino Hakkai

Oshino Hakkai is a tourist sight of 8 spring water ponds of Mt. Fuji located in Oshino Village, Yamanashi. The site was chosen as one of the Natural Monuments of Japan, as well as one of the country’s National Top 100 Spring Waters. It is also part of the Mt. Fuji UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The pristine spring water of these eight ponds are snow melt from Mt. Fuji, which, having filtered down the mountain through lava for decades, is especially pure and thus considered as sacred water. To add to its charms, the site is also a popular spot for cherry blossom viewing. With blooming blossoms swaying in the spring breeze and snow-capped Mt. Fuji as its backdrop, the scenery is sure to captivate every beholder’s heart.

.Arakurayama Sengen Park

This renowned sightseeing park, a popular viewing spot for Mt. Fuji as well as cherry blossoms, is located on a hillside in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi. For the best views, climb the 400 steps from Arakura Sengen Shrine to the top to find the five-storied Chureito Pagoda, where you can get a full view of the city against the backdrop of Mt. Fuji. In mid to late April when hundreds of cherry trees bloom, the area is particularly beautiful, creating a spectacular view of the pagoda with Mt. Fuji.
