Sacred Tree, Sea of Clouds, Behold the Epic View on Alishan, Taiwan
Being one of the most popular attractions in Taiwan, Alishan (Ali Mountain) is actually not a mountain, but part of a mountain range close to Mount Jade, the highest peak of Taiwan.
During the Taiwan under Japanese rule period, a railroad was built for logging the ancient cedars in 1912, and tourism started to grow when the logging ended in the 1970s. After years of development, Alishan National Scenic Area is now known for its sunrise views, sea of clouds, old rail road, and ancient forests.
