I developed my affection towards mathematics and physics during my high school years, and my love for both continue growing. I absolutely see Math and Physics as the core ingredient of life. Maybe it’s because I’m an engineer :)
Over the years, I heard about Vedic mathematics but never got a chance to study it. Then, two years ago, I decided to order and study Himanshu Pancholi’s book titled Vedic Maths.
What is Vedic Mathematics?
Vedic math is the world’s fastest mental algebraic mathematics system. It was invented in India by Swami Bharati Krishna Tirtha between 1911 and 1918 and is still used today to calculate numbers rapidly.
Vedic Mathematics is comprised of 16 wonderful sutras (math formulae) and 13 sub-sutras. These solve most calculation problems including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Check out this article to learn more about Vedic Math and its benefits.
About the Book
Vedic Maths is a concise book of only 80 pages and 16 chapters, each focusing on the sutras. Every chapter includes 5–7 questions of example problems and exercises. There are many books about Vedic mathematics for purchase at around $5 to $15.
Who is Vedic Maths for?
I highly recommend Vedic Maths for students in grade 5 to the university level. Every student can leverage the Vedic formulae to quickly calculate math problems in their exams. But you don’t have to be a student to appreciate it. Any math lover like me should also read Vedic Maths whenever they get a chance. It makes mathematics a joyful experience for everyone.
