In my mom’s house, everyone’s laundry is comingled, but divided by load type (dark, delicate, jeans and towels), and she’s super particular about things being washed and dried correctly. I, on the other hand, mix everything and was it together on cold. If I lived at home, she would do all the laundry because it would drive her crazy that I did it wrong, and it would drive me crazy that she would be constantly telling me how to wash clothes. I’m return, I would happily take up some other task that she would no longer have to do. I very much subscribe to the idea that if one roommate super duper cares about how a thing is done, they should be responsible for doing it,
