My parents don’t want or need my money. If I was forced to move home due to losing my job and house (at this point things would have to be pretty dire, but I think this would have been the case right out of college too), they would primarily want to see me trying to find work again. I would probably take over cooking, because I enjoy doing it and my parents don’t, and depending on what money I had available, I would do the grocery shopping of I could. The idea would be to contribute, but not necessarily financially. And as much as I appreciate knowing my parents will always have my back, the lack of privacy and the constant concern about what I’m doing and what time I’m getting home would drive me batty.
