The thing about major cruise lines is that your experience is blatantly mass produced. Whatever perks you bought in your package or didn’t, whether you sprung for the balcony or the drinks package, you’re just another person who is going to live in this cabin for a week and visit the same tourist trap beaches and listen to the same locals rehearse the same scripted welcome when you stop ashore for your extra excursions. They’ll scrub the ship down once you leave, and someone else will take your place hours later. If you really had money to burn, you wouldn’t be spending it on such an out-of-the-box vacation.

Which is to say, I do not love Royal Caribbean cruises, and I agree with you.
