27 countries will walk the plank at PIRATE Summit 2018!
Less than 2 weeks left until we celebrate the next edition of PIRATE Summit 2018 together in Cologne.
One of our highlights will, like every year, be the pitch competition!
70 founders from 27 countries in total will walk the plank! This brave PIRATEs come from Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegowina, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Nigeria, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, Ukraine and USA. Here’s the list.
This is the procedure for this year’s walk the plank competition:
Every startup founder on stage has three minutes (180 secs) to pitch and two minutes (120 seconds) for Q&A afterwards. Founders don’t need to use a pitch deck, but are welcome to do so! Up to five jurors will judge each pitch session — all of them are actively looking for hot deals and are investing from seed to series A.
These are the evaluation categories which will be important for the jurors:
- Business Model
Our finals this year will be a bit different: Entrepreneurs who have reached the finals should be prepared to an on-stage VC-meeting! Again founders have 30 seconds to introduce themselves and 270 seconds of Q&A.
Prepare well because there will be some questions who might be uncomfortable for you. But don’t stress — we ARRR Pirates, the loveliest people you’ll find.
What’s our pitch prize?
Our golden treasure for the winning startup this year is a fully-paid trip to the startup capitals of the world: San Francisco and London or Berlin — pre-arranged 1-on-1 meetings with the best investors in town included! More information here.
