PIRATE Summit 2018 — final info & everything you need to know

We are hustling like crazy preparing everything for the PIRATE Summit next week and we can’t wait to meet all of you! Please read this carefully, as it tells you everything you need to know.

July 3rd

The PIRATE Summit will open its doors at 5:00 p.m. The official opening is at 6:00 p.m followed by an outstanding talk about building startup ecosystems in extreme environments and several campfires. Beside diving deep into the content, we’ll have BBQ, beer and a bunch of networking formats — We’re expecting a diverse group of startup founders, investors, corporates and journalists!

July 4th

The second day will start with yoga, meditation and/or a running session — no worries, it’s not mandatory! We’ll open the doors at 9:00 a.m. The program starts at 10 a.m. and will be packed with interactive sessions, masterclasses, clinics, campfires, speed dating, and the Walk-the-Plank pitch competition. 65 brave founders from 26 countries will compete for their pirate glory. Also, you shouldn’t miss our personal and motivating format PIRATE Secrets on the Captain’s deck stage right before our traditional “PIRATE Burning”, which kicks-off the legendary PIRATE party (open end).

July 5th

After a night of partying, fire, shanties and rum, the gates will open again at 9 a.m. for the second day with a hangover breakfast and yoga waiting for you. Sessions will start at 10:30 a.m. and end at 1.30 p.m. We will again have a vast variety of formats ranging from keynotes to engaging campfires, masterclasses and clinics, where you can get your individual challenges tackled by battle-proven experts. At 1:30 p.m. you can join us for an exciting topic journey through the Cologne startup ecosystem. Please check out the whole agenda here and even pre-book and add your fav sessions to your calendar.

All-in-one Networking & Agenda Tool

Interact with speakers and participants, set up meetings, pre-book your sessions & schedule your personal agenda by using our official tool, Talque. In case you’re hesitant or don’t want to get it, consider that cool announcements and program changes during the event will only (!) be done via Talque. Don’t forget to pre-book the masterclasses, clinics, campfires and topic journeys. Dive deep into workshops and campfires about new technologies, funding, growth marketing and many more. Each session has a maximum capacity of participants so please make sure you register asap via our tool Talque to save your spot (register details above). Some are already gone!

Exhibition Area of partners & XR-Village by the City of Cologne and EDVFR

Some really brave mateys and partners exhibit their treasures at PIRATE Summit. Get connected with them in advance via Talque and set up your individual meetings or stop by whenever you like during the PIRATE Summit. Thanks to the City of Cologne and the EDFVR, we will also have a special XR-Village where selected XR startups will allow you to experience the world of XR and the technology behind it.

Event Check-In

You will receive everything you need at the registration counter on site. Please bring your ticket with you (paper or digital) and have it ready to ensure a smooth check-in.

Accommodation

If you’re still looking, we recommend checking the hotels/hostels etc listed here and the classical platforms like Airbnb, Booking.com et al.

Food & Drinks

FREE. Oh, yeah! During the PIRATE Summit food and drinks are included. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is available on all three days too.

Luggage

We have a cloakroom at the event where you can leave all your personal belongings
- Due to limited space, we are not able to offer space for every attendee, especially suitcases. If you can, please leave your luggage at the hotel! -
