As always, click on the title for ticket info, descriptions

from the Wicked Queer festival website:

Trans Youth, Fenway Community Heath Center, 6:30 PM: Free admission

This intimate documentary is an interwoven coming of age story of seven trans young adults in the southern city of Austin, Texas.

Mr Gay Syria, Brattle Theater, 6:30 PM; co-presented by MIRA Coalition , Queer Muslims of Boston

In focusing his attention on the competitors of Mr Gay Syria, director Ayse Toprak shatters the one-dimensional meaning of “refugee”. Using the pageant as a means of escape from political persecution, the organiser Mahmoud — already given asylum in Berlin — hopes to offer the winner a chance to travel as well as bring international attention to the life-threatening situations faced by LGBT Syrians.

Public Intimacy, Brattle Theatre, 8:30 PM — co-presented by LatinX Pride , The Theatre Offensive , Boston Latino International Film Festival

The four stories of “Public Intimacy” deal with urgent and profound themes, like homofobia, prostitution, transsexuality and madness. “Public Intimacy” proposes a cinema that is focused on its characters. They struggle to become who they really are..

An excellent weekday lineup for sure. For complete information on the festival and it’s upcoming offerings, be sure to visit the official website at http://wickedqueer.org. We have attended selections at this festival several times over the past several years, and every film we’ve seen there has been a true gem; Wicked Queer always finds the best programming possible!

Look for more great films to spread throughout the festival — we’ll have the complete line-up for Monday tomorrow morning!

Running through April 8, you can catch screenings at various locations around the Hub, including the MFA, the Arts/Emerson Paramount Theater, both in Boston, and at the Brattle Theatre in Cambridge. And we’ll have daily schedule and ticket info right here. Be sure to stay informed by keeping your browser on eCinemaBoston for complete schedule and ticket info!
