Every well known and established organization comes up with a marketing plan which can be reduced into the form of a slogan. Slogans are basically created to highlight the target, aim or objective of an organization. Even political parties all around the world create new and innovative slogans in order to tell the public what their cause is. Over that past few decades, many slogans have been initiated across Pakistan, some of which are still used today. These slogans can be heard in public addresses, seen on banners, and over the internet etc.

One of the most prominent slogans in Pakistani history was initiated by Chairman Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto of PPP; the Oldest Political Party of Pakistan. “Roti, Kapra, Makan mang raha he har insaan” was Bhutto’s cry. This slogan highlighted Bhutto’s perspective on the arising issues at that time. He believed that the people of Pakistan were not satisfied because they were not being provided with the basic necessities of life i.e. Food, Water and Shelter. With in no time this slogan became the face of Pakistan Peoples Party. It ran successfully across the country and created awareness. This one liner taught the Pakistani Awaam what they could rightly demand from any government.

Another slogan initiated by PPP was “Charoun subon ki zanjeer, Benazir Benazir”. This slogan gained much popularity amongst PPP’s supporters. It highlighted that Benazir aimed to unite all four provinces together and grant equality. It also showed us that PPP has supporters in every province.

PMLN started off with the slogan “Dekho dekhko Koun Aaya Sheer aya sheer aya”. PMLN’s logo is represented by a Tiger; hence party members spread this slogan amongst supporters to chant when at the appearance of Nawaz Sharif. This slogan was only popularly used till Nawaz’s scandals had not been openly exposed. After his scandals had been shown to the general public, Pakistan Tehreek –e- Insaaf initiated a slogan “Go Nawaz Go”. This slogan was created to tell Nawaz Sharif to resign from the public office as he had been proved corrupt.

MQM has also contributed a lot in terms of popular slogans. They created slogans mostly to idolize their incapable leader. These slogans only became popular because people were forced to repeat them at public gatherings. “Jiay Altaf” being the most famous slogan at its time, could be seen all across Karachi. Painted on walls and private property, these slogans were forcefully injected in the society to mark their territory.

Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf launched its slogan as “Tabdeeli”. This signifies the new party’s goal; change. Although not much change has been seen in KPK since PTI was entitled to govern the province, they have contributed a bit to identifying corrupt leaders with in the system.
